"It's the Cat" by NMartinez "It's the Cat" by NMartinez
Based on Mark Kausler's wonderful tribute to musical '30s cartoons, I just had to make a fan art of it. Colored with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Lines with Faber-Castell Polychromos Black Pencil.

It's quite nice but it's legs are pretty awkward and his right looks a lot bigger than it's left hand. A piece of advice, practice your perspective and you'll become a great artist. The music notes are quite nice and the moon looks really cool but it needs a little more shading. The style of the fence is pretty impressive but it needs some shading. The pose is quite creative but you could work on developing it a little more. The mouth is quite cool and so is the nose and it's expression. Keep up the amazing work, I see potential in you.
What do you think?

How cool that the old cartoon style is maintained by the talented artists!

LOL at the cat's nose!
Makes me want to draw in this style.

Nice choice making the musical notes white to contrast from the cat's black, it's different but helps to create different eye scans along the piece.

Yeah, I was thinking of a way to help the notes read against the black sky without disappearing into it. The white seemed to work pretty well.
